Electricity Feed-in (Large-scale Renewable Energy Generation) Act 2011

promote the establishment of large-scale facilities for the generation of electricity from a range of renewable energy sources in the Australian capital region and other places; and

promote the development of the renewable energy generation industry in the ACT and Australia consistent with the development of a national electricity market; and

reduce the ACT’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions and help achieve targets to reduce the ACT’s greenhouse gas emissions; and

address the need for urgent action to be taken to reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources while minimising the cost to electricity consumers.
