48 Powers on entry to premises
An inspector who enters premises under this part may, for this Act—
inspect, measure, photograph or film the premises or anything on the premises; or
copy a document on the premises; or
test or take samples of or from anything on the premises; or
take into the premises any people, equipment or material the inspector reasonably needs for exercising a power under this Act; or
require the occupier, or a person on the premises, to give the inspector reasonable help to exercise a power under this Act.
Without limiting the operation of subsection (1), an inspector who enters premises under this part may—
check whether an article of electrical equipment or electrical installation on the premises—
is safe; or
complies with a relevant standard; or
is prohibited; or
check whether electrical wiring work—
is safe; or
has been, or is being, done in accordance with this Act.
A person must take all reasonable steps to comply with a requirement made of the person under subsection (1) (e).
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
