Fair Trading (Fuel Prices) Act 1993

 commissioner for fair trading

 the Territory.

base wholesale price, in relation to a specified fuel, means the wholesale price payable for that fuel, excluding—

the amount per unit of measurement of the fuel included in that price on account of freight charges in connection with the supply of that fuel; and

the amount per unit of measurement of the fuel included in that price on account of any duty payable by the wholesaler under a law of the Commonwealth.

commissioner means the commissioner for fair trading.

determination means a determination by the Minister under section 4 (1).

fuel—

for this Act generally—

means a fuel mentioned in the Fuels Rationing Act 2019, section 6; and

includes electricity; and

for part 3 (Regulated transfer of certain fuels)—see section 7A (1).

price includes a charge of any description.

recommendation means a recommendation by the commissioner under section 3 (1).

retail margin, in relation to a specified fuel, means the amount included in the retail price that is equal to the difference between that price and the base wholesale price of that fuel, excluding the amount per unit of measurement of the fuel included in the retail price on account of the freight charges in connection with the supply of that fuel.

retail price, of a specified fuel, means the price per unit of measurement of the fuel payable on the sale of the fuel by retail without any discount applied.

specified fuel means the fuel that is specified in a recommendation or a determination, as the case requires.

wholesale price, of a specified fuel, means the price per unit of measurement of the fuel payable on the sale of the fuel by wholesale.
