Family Provision Act 1969

An action does not lie against the administrator of the estate of a deceased person because of his or her having distributed the whole or any part of the estate of the deceased person if the distribution was a distribution referred to in section 20 (2) or if—

the distribution was made before the administrator had notice of an application for an order under this Act or notice of an application to extend the time within which an application for an order under this Act may be made under this Act; and

before making the distribution, the administrator had given notice in accordance with the Administration and Probate Act 1929, section 64 and the time specified in the notice for sending in claims had expired.
