Treasurer’s advance—payment pending supplementary appropriation
18A Treasurer’s advance—payment pending supplementary appropriation
This section applies if—
in a financial year, the Treasurer authorises a Treasurer’s advance for a payment; and
the authorisation states that the payment may be provided for in an Appropriation Act other than the first Appropriation Act (a supplementary appropriation Act) in the financial year.
If a supplementary appropriation Act is passed for the payment—
the Treasurer’s advance ceases; and
the amount of the Treasurer’s advance is taken for all purposes to have been paid out of money appropriated by that Act; and
the amount appropriated for section 18 (Treasurer’s advance) for the financial year is taken to be restored by the amount of the Treasurer’s advance.
If a supplementary appropriation Act is not passed for the payment, the payment continues to be authorised from the appropriation for section 18 for the financial year.
