Responsibility for territory authority statements of performance
69 Responsibility for territory authority statements of performance
A statement of performance of a territory authority must have a statement of responsibility attached to it.
The statement of responsibility must—
state that, in the relevant person’s opinion, the statement of performance fairly reflects the performance of the authority during the financial year; and
state the relevant person’s responsibility for the preparation of the statement of performance and the judgments exercised in preparing it; and
be signed by the relevant person.
The statement of responsibility may be signed at any time before the auditor-general gives the report about the statement of performance to the chief executive officer under section 70 (2).
In this section:
relevant person, for the territory authority, means—
if the authority has a governing board—the chair of the governing board; or
if the authority does not have a governing board—the chief executive officer.
