43 Registered firearms, required particulars when firearm acquired or sold—Act, s 178 (2) (b)
For the sale of a firearm, the following particulars are to be given to the registrar:
the date of the sale;
the name and licence details of the licensed firearms dealer or other person to whom the firearm was sold;
either—
the make and serial number of the firearm sold; or
the identifying number given to the firearm by the registrar;
for any spare barrel sold with the firearm—
the make and serial number of the barrel; or
the unique identifying number given to the barrel by the registrar.
For the acquisition of a firearm, the following particulars are to be given to the registrar:
the date of the acquisition;
the number of the person’s permit to acquire the firearm;
the number of the licence or permit authorising the person who acquired the firearm to possess it;
the name and licence details of the licensed firearms dealer or other person from whom the firearm was acquired;
either—
the make and serial number of the firearm acquired; or
the identifying number given to the firearm by the registrar;
for any spare barrel acquired with the firearm, either—
the make and serial number of the barrel; or
the unique identifying number given to the barrel by the registrar.
