20 Authorised officers

(1)

The members of the governing board are authorised officers.

(2)

The chief executive officer may appoint a person to be an authorised officer.

Note 1 For the making of appointments (including acting appointments), see the Legislation Act, pt 19.3.

Note 2 In particular, a person may be appointed for a particular provision of a law (see Legislation Act, s 7 (3)) and an appointment may be made by naming a person or nominating the occupant of a position (see s 207).

(3)

The director‑general may, in writing, recognise a person engaged in the administration or enforcement of a gaming law of a reciprocating jurisdiction as an authorised officer for this subsection.

(4)

If the director‑general recognises a person for subsection (3), the person is an authorised officer for the period and purpose stated in the recognition of the person.

(5)

A gaming officer to whom the chief executive officer delegates functions under division 4.2 is an authorised officer.
