9 Offence—certificate of compliance
A responsible gasfitter commits an offence if—
the gasfitter finishes gasfitting work; and
the gasfitter fails to give each person prescribed by regulation, a written statement (a certificate of compliance) certifying that—
the finished gasfitting work was carried out in accordance with the gas safety legislation; and
any consumer piping system, medical gas system or appliance that is part of the finished gasfitting work is safe to use and complies with the gas safety legislation.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
Section 8 requires gasfitting work to be carried out to a particular standard and in accordance with particular standards.
