20 Meaning of road and road-related area—the Law, s 8 (3)
This section applies if an instrument under the Road Transport (General) Act 1999, section 12 (1) (a) (Power to include or exclude areas in road transport legislation) is in force.
If the instrument declares that the road transport legislation applies to an area that is open to or used by the public, the area is declared to be a road-related area for the Heavy Vehicle National Law (ACT).
If the instrument declares that the road transport legislation does not apply to a road or road related area (within the meaning of the Road Transport (General) Act 1999), the road or road related area is taken not to be a road or road-related area for the Heavy Vehicle National Law (ACT).
