Heritage Act 2004

The Minister may make a statement setting out the government’s priorities in relation to heritage in the ACT (a statement of priorities).

The Minister must consult the council before making a statement of priorities.

The statement of priorities—

must include information about how the council must or may report about the action taken by the council to respond to the statement of priorities; and

may include any information the Minister believes will assist the council in responding to the statement of priorities; but

must not include a direction about the way in which a function of the council is exercised.

The Minister must give the statement of priorities to the council.

A statement of priorities is a notifiable instrument.
