Division 8.1Commissioners

48 Term of office

(1)

In this section:

commissioner does not include the chief executive officer.

(2)

Subject to this division, a commissioner holds office for a period of not longer than—

(a)

for the president of the commission—5 years; or

(b)

for a commissioner other than the president—3 years.

(3)

The instrument of appointment must state the period for which a commissioner is appointed.

Note A person may be reappointed to a position if the person is eligible to be appointed to the position (see Legislation Act, s 208 and dict, pt 1, def appoint).
