Functions of authority
79C Functions of authority
The authority has the following functions:
administering the long service leave benefits schemes established under this Act;
making payments under this Act;
keeping the employers registers and workers registers for covered industries;
any other function given to the authority under this Act or another territory law.
Note A provision of a law that gives an entity (including a person) a function also gives the entity powers necessary and convenient to exercise the function (see Legislation Act, s 196 and dict, pt 1, def entity).
To remove any doubt, the authority may exercise its functions inside and outside the ACT, including in a foreign country.
