40 Offence—ticket-scalping
(1)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
the person sells or trades a ticket to a major event; and
(b)
the value of the ticket is more than the original sale price of the ticket; and
(c)
the person does not have the written permission of the event organiser to do so.
Maximum penalty: 30 penalty units.
(2)
In this section:
sell or trade, a ticket, includes any form of transaction in which a substantial purpose of the transaction is the sale or trade of the ticket for a value more than the original sale price of the ticket.
