138 Insurer believes injuries stable and permanent impairment
(1)
This section applies if the relevant insurer for a motor accident—
(a)
receives a quality of life benefits application from a person injured in the accident; and
(b)
reasonably believes that—
(i)
the person’s injuries have stabilised; and
(ii)
the person is likely to have a permanent impairment as a result of the injuries.
(2)
The relevant insurer must refer the injured person to an authorised IME provider for a WPI assessment.
