Planning Act 2023

The Executive must, at least once every 5 years after making the planning strategy or a district strategy, consider whether the strategy should be reviewed.

In deciding whether the strategy should be reviewed, the Executive must consider whether the strategy continues to reflect the long‑term planning policy and goals for the ACT.

After the Executive considers whether the strategy should be reviewed, the Minister must prepare a notice stating—

that the Executive has considered whether the strategy should be reviewed; and

the Executive’s decision on whether the strategy should be reviewed; and

the date of the Executive’s decision; and

if the Executive decides that the strategy should be reviewed—the scope of the review.

A notice under subsection (3) is a notifiable instrument.

If the Executive decides that the strategy should be reviewed, the Executive must arrange the review.
