Receipt for thing seized
492 Receipt for thing seized
As soon as practicable after an inspector seizes a thing under this chapter, the inspector must give a receipt for it to the person from whom it was seized.
If, for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1), the inspector must leave the receipt, secured conspicuously, at the place of seizure under section 472 (Power to seize things on entry under search warrant).
A receipt under this section must include the following:
a description of the thing seized;
an explanation of why the thing was seized;
the inspector’s name, and how to contact the inspector;
if the thing is moved from the premises where it is seized—where the thing is to be taken.
