Polling in Antarctica
13 Polling in Antarctica
The purpose of this section is to ensure that, as far as practicable, polling in Antarctica for the purposes of a referendum is conducted in the same way as the polling of electors in Antarctica for the purposes of an election.
For the purpose of this section, the Electoral Act, part 11 applies, so far as the same is applicable, with the necessary changes.
In particular, the directions transmitted by the commissioner to a returning officer for the preparation of referendum ballot papers shall ensure, so far as practicable, that such ballot papers are the same as ballot papers prepared in accordance with section 11.
