66 Recovery of lost or stolen numberplates
If the plate-holder of a lost or stolen numberplate recovers the numberplate, the plate-holder must, as soon as practicable (but within 14 days) after recovering the numberplate—
(a)
tell the road transport authority about the recovery of the numberplate; and
(b)
give the numberplate to the authority unless the authority tells the plate-holder that the numberplate need not be given to the authority.
Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
