125 Receipt for things seized

(1)

As soon as practicable after an authorised person seizes a thing under this part, the authorised person must give a receipt for it to the person from whom it was seized.

(2)

If, for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1), the authorised person must leave the receipt, secured conspicuously, at the place of seizure under section 118 (Power to seize things).

(3)

A receipt under this section must include the following:

(a)

a description of the thing seized;

(b)

an explanation of why the thing was seized;

(c)

the authorised person’s name, and how to contact the authorised person;

(d)

if the thing is moved from the premises where it is seized—where the thing is to be taken.
