Object of Act

In force

The object of this Act is to help victims of crime by establishing a system for giving financial assistance to—

(a)

assist victims of crime to recover from acts of violence; and

(b)

contribute to the safety of victims of crime and the prevention of future acts of violence; and

(c)

acknowledge the harmful effects of acts of violence; and

(d)

complement other services provided for victims of crime.
