40 Offence—inducing making or revocation of request for access to voluntary assisted dying
A person commits an offence if the person, dishonestly or by coercion, induces an individual into making a request for access to voluntary assisted dying.
Maximum penalty: imprisonment for 7 years.
A person commits an offence if the person, dishonestly or by coercion, induces an individual into revoking a request for access to voluntary assisted dying.
Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.
In this section:
dishonest—a person’s conduct is dishonest if—
the person’s conduct is dishonest according to the standards of ordinary people; and
the person knows that the conduct is dishonest according to those standards.
request for access to voluntary assisted dying means—
a first request; or
a second request; or
a final request.
