Objects of Act

In force

The objects of this Act are to—

(a)

manage waste according to the following hierarchy:

(i)

minimise the generation of waste;

(ii)

maximise the recovery and re-use of resources;

(iii)

minimise the amount of waste that goes to landfill; and

(b)

support innovation and investment in waste management; and

(c)

promote responsibility for waste reduction; and

(d)

promote best-practice waste management.
