33 Power to require name and address
An inspector may require a person to state the person’s name and address if the inspector—
finds a person committing an offence against this Act; or
reasonably believes that a person has committed an offence against this Act.
In exercising a power under subsection (1), an inspector must—
inform the person of the reasons for the requirement; and
as soon as practicable after making the requirement, record those reasons.
A person is not required to comply with a requirement under subsection (1) if, on request by the person, the inspector does not produce the inspector’s identity card.
A person must not, without reasonable excuse, contravene a requirement under subsection (1).
Maximum penalty (subsection (4)): 5 penalty units.
