53 Licences—renewal
The holder of a licence may apply, in writing, to the authority for renewal of the licence.
The application must be made not later than 14 days before the end of the licence period.
If the application is made in accordance with subsection (2), the licence remains in force, subject to this Act, until the application is decided.
On application to renew a licence, the authority must—
renew the licence; or
refuse to renew the licence.
If the authority renews the licence, the renewal of the licence begins on the day after the day the licence being renewed ends.
A suspended licence may be renewed, but the renewed licence is suspended until the suspension ends.
