Background Background
The FAA received reports of corrosion at the forward trunnion thrust face, tabs, and the internal threads of the forward trunnion of the main landing gear due to moisture in the forward trunnion joint. Corrosion of the forward trunnion joint could lead to a stress corrosion fracture of the forward trunnion and possible consequent collapse of the landing gear.
