This Directive has been issued to require the left and right low pressure (LP) fuel shut-off levers to be locked in the open position. The LP levers are to be locked by using securing wire which can be broken in an emergency. The requirement follows reports of the LP levers being inadvertently selected off when closing the fuel crossfeed valve levers.
