27G Minister may give directions to the Board
The Minister may give written directions to the Board about the performance of its functions or the exercise of its powers.
The Board must comply with a direction under subsection (1).
Subsection (2) does not apply to the extent that the direction relates to the Board’s performance of functions or exercise of powers under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 in relation to the APVMA.
The Minister must not give a direction to the Board unless:
the Minister has given the Board a written notice stating that the Minister is considering giving the direction; and
the Minister has given the Board an adequate opportunity to discuss with the Minister the need for the proposed direction.
A direction under subsection (1) is a notifiable instrument.
The Minister must cause a copy of a direction under subsection (1) to be laid before each House of the Parliament within 15 sitting days of giving the direction.
