14E Applications for approval of prescribed labels for containers for chemical products
A person may apply to the APVMA for approval of a prescribed label for containers for a chemical product.
For prescribed label for containers for a chemical product, see subsection (4).
The application must meet the application requirements.

The APVMA may alter the application with the written consent of the applicant.
A prescribed label for containers for a chemical product is a label:
for containers for a chemical product; and
that is of a kind:
prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this subparagraph; or
determined by the APVMA under subsection (6).
The APVMA must not determine a kind of label under subsection (6) unless it is satisfied that the kind of label would:
meet the labelling criteria; or
comply with the established standard for the chemical product.
The APVMA may, by legislative instrument, determine a kind of label for the purposes of subparagraph (4)(b)(ii).
Without limiting subsection (6), a kind of label may be described by reference to a kind of chemical product.
Decision on application
The APVMA must approve the label that is the subject of the application if it is satisfied that:
the application meets the application requirements; and
the label that is the subject of the application is a prescribed label for containers for a chemical product; and
none of the circumstances determined in an instrument under subsection (10) apply in relation to the applicant.

Otherwise, the APVMA must refuse the application.

Disqualifying circumstances
The APVMA may, by legislative instrument, determine circumstances for the purposes of paragraph (8)(c).
