Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Act 1994

This Division deals with the duration of approvals and registrations, and with renewing registrations.

Section 47 sets out the periods for which approvals and registrations are in force.

The APVMA must publish notice of the end of a registration as soon as practicable after the registration has ended (section 47C).

If the APVMA publishes notice of the end of the registration of a product under section 47C, then:

certain persons are taken to have a permit to possess, have custody of or use of the product for a limited period (section 47D); and

persons may only supply the product in accordance with instructions contained in the notice (section 47E).

Section 48 provides for applications for renewal of a registration.

The APVMA must renew the registration if the application requirements are met (section 49).

Renewal takes place by entry in the Register (section 50).

The approval of a label for a container for a chemical product is automatically renewed when the registration of the product is renewed (section 51).
