98 Interpretation
Building activities
For the purposes of this Act, the following activities are building activities:
constructing buildings or other structures;
altering the structure of buildings or other structures;
undertaking, constructing or altering earthworks (whether or not in relation to buildings or other structures);
undertaking, constructing or altering engineering works, electrical works or hydraulic works (whether or not in relation to buildings or other structures);
demolishing, destroying, dismantling or removing:
buildings or other structures; or
earthworks; or
engineering works; or
electrical works; or
hydraulic works;
undertaking land clearing;
an activity of a kind prescribed in the regulations.
Structures
For the purposes of this Division, the following are taken to be structures:
bridges;
fences;
towers and pylons;
tents and other temporary structures.
Earthworks or engineering works
For the purposes of this Division, the following are taken to be earthworks or engineering works:
runways, taxiways and aprons;
surface carparks;
retaining walls;
dams;
roads;
railways;
pipelines;
tunnels.
