48 Resolution of no confidence in Chief Minister
If:
on a particular day, the Assembly passes a resolution of no confidence in the Chief Minister;
the Assembly does not, within the period of 30 days after that day, elect a Chief Minister; and
the Governor‑General does not, within that period of 30 days, dissolve the Assembly under section 16;
a general election shall be held on a day specified by the Commonwealth Minister by notice published in the Commonwealth Gazette, being not earlier than 36 days, nor later than 90 days, after the end of that period of 30 days.
The Commonwealth Minister shall not specify a day that is the polling day for an election of the Senate or a general election of the House of Representatives.
