3 Object
The main object of this Act is to support the creation and retention of Australian jobs by:
(a)
requiring Australian Industry Participation plans for major projects; and
(b)
providing that an Australian Industry Participation plan for a major project will ensure that Australian entities have full, fair and reasonable opportunity to bid for:
(i)
the supply of key goods or services for the project; and
(ii)
if the project involves establishing a new facility—the supply of key goods or services for the new facility’s initial operational phase.
