24 Appointment
(1)
The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman is to be appointed by the Governor‑General by written instrument.
(2)
Before the Governor‑General appoints a person as the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, the Minister must be satisfied that the person:
(a)
has suitable qualifications or experience; and
(b)
is of good character.
(3)
The Ombudsman holds office on a full‑time basis.
(4)
The Ombudsman holds office for the period specified in the instrument of appointment. The period must not exceed 5 years.
Note:
The Ombudsman may be reappointed: see section 33AA of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.
