Requests for assistance
66 Requests for assistance
Any person may request assistance from the Ombudsman in relation to a relevant action.
The request may be made to the Ombudsman orally or in writing.
If the request is made orally to the Ombudsman, the Ombudsman may:
reduce the request to writing; or
at any time require the person who made the request to reduce the request to writing.
If the Ombudsman requires a person to reduce a request for assistance to writing, the Ombudsman may decline to deal with the request, or to deal with the request further, until the person reduces the request to writing.
A request for assistance in relation to a relevant action made to the Ombudsman in writing, or reduced to writing, is a formal request.
