Aviation Transport Security Act 2004

The regulations may prescribe different types of airside event zones.

The purposes for which different types of airside event zones may be prescribed include, but are not limited to, the following:

managing different types of events within airside areas;

controlling the movement of people, vehicles and goods within airside areas;

restricting access to airside event zones within airside areas;

providing cleared zones;

preventing interference with aircraft (including unattended aircraft);

ensuring the security of the following:

air traffic control facilities;

fuel storage areas;

general aviation areas;

cargo and baggage handling facilities;

navigational aids;

fire stations and other emergency service facilities;

critical facilities and critical structures.
