378 Permanent biosecurity monitoring zones
Each of the following places in Australian territory, and the area in Australian territory that is within the permissible distance of the boundary of the place, are a permanent biosecurity monitoring zone:
a landing place that is a first point of entry for aircraft or goods;
a port that is a first point of entry for vessels or goods;
an international mail centre;
a biosecurity activity zone;
any other place prescribed by the regulations.
Permissible distance means 400 metres or such greater distance as is prescribed by the regulations (see the definition in section 9).
The regulations must not prescribe a place for the purposes of paragraph (1)(e) unless the Director of Biosecurity is satisfied that there is a high level of biosecurity risk associated with the place.
