571 Offence—failure to return identity card
A person contravenes this subsection if:
the person has been issued with an identity card under subsection 569(1) or 570(1); and
the person ceases to be an officer referred to in the relevant subsection; and
the person does not, within 14 days after so ceasing, return the person’s identity card to the person who issued it.
Subsection (1) of this section does not apply if the identity card was lost or destroyed.
A defendant bears an evidential burden in relation to the matter in this subsection (see subsection 13.3(3) of the Criminal Code).
Strict liability offence
A person commits an offence of strict liability if the person contravenes subsection (1).

Penalty: 1 penalty unit.
