Commencement

In force

(1)

Part I shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

(2)

The remaining provisions of this Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by Proclamation.

(3)

The date so fixed shall be the date on which Christmas Island is placed under the authority of the Commonwealth in pursuance of the Imperial Act entitled the Christmas Island Act, 1958.
