Certificate where seaman left behind

Section 148B of the Principal Act is amended:

(a)

by omitting from subsection (1) “The master” and substituting “Subject to subsection (1A), the master”; and

(b)

by inserting after subsection (1) the following subsection:

(1A)

Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to a seaman serving under articles of agreement where the seaman is left behind, or is proposed to be left behind, in accordance with the terms of the articles of agreement.
