The Board may, in writing, establish an Expert Panel.

The Expert Panel consists of such members as the Board from time to time appoints by written instrument.

A member of the Expert Panel may be reappointed: see section 33AA of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.

One or more members of the Expert Panel are to be appointed by the Board, in writing and in accordance with the terms of reference for a review under section 46, to the review panel for the review to assist in the review.

The office of member of the Expert Panel, and the office of member of the Expert Panel assisting in relation to a review, are not public offices within the meaning of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

The rules may make provision for or in relation to the Expert Panel, including for or in relation to the following:

membership of the Expert Panel;

appointment of members to the Expert Panel;

appointments of its members to a review panel for a review;

terms of appointment of members;

remuneration of members;

resignation of members;

disclosure of interests by members;

termination of appointment of members;

leave of absence of members.
