234 Secretary may require assessment of goods
This section applies if an export permit for a kind of prescribed goods is in force.
The Secretary may require an assessment of the goods to be carried out under Part 2 of Chapter 9 if the Secretary reasonably believes that:
the integrity of the goods cannot be ensured; or
a condition of the export permit has been, or is likely to be, contravened; or
the requirements of this Act have not been complied with, or are not likely to be complied with before the goods are imported into the importing country; or
an importing country requirement relating to the goods will not be, or is not likely to be, met before the goods are imported into the importing country; or
circumstances prescribed by the rules exist.
The integrity of goods that are intended for human consumption may not be able to be ensured if the goods are likely to deteriorate before they arrive at their intended destination.
