288 Use of information—civil obligations
A person who obtains information because he or she is, or has been, an officer or employee of an organisation or a branch must not improperly use the information to:
gain an advantage for himself or herself or someone else; or
cause detriment to the organisation or to another person.
This duty continues after the person stops being an officer or employee of the organisation or branch.
Civil penalty: 100 penalty units, or 1,200 penalty units for a serious contravention.
A person who is involved in a contravention of subsection (1) contravenes this subsection.
