57L Offence

A person commits an offence if:

(a)

the person produces or tenders a document in evidence; and

(b)

the document falsely purports to be:

(i)

an instrument, or a copy of or extract from an instrument, lodged with AFMA under this Part; or

(ii)

a copy of or extract from an entry in the Fishing Permits Register.

Penalty: Imprisonment for 2 years.

Note 1:

Chapter 2 of the Criminal Code sets out the general principles of criminal responsibility.

Note 2:

Subsections 137.1(1) and 137.2(1) of the Criminal Code create offences for the provision of false or misleading documents or information in purported compliance with Commonwealth legislation.
