18 Registration of judgments recognised under State or Territory law
(1)
Subject to this section, a judgment that:
(a)
is a judgment of a court of a country that is not a country prescribed for the purposes of subsection 5(1); and
(b)
but for the operation of this Act (other than section 19), would be registrable under the law of a State or Territory;
may be registered in the Supreme Court of that State or Territory.
(2)
This section does not extend to the courts of countries that are prescribed for the purposes of this section.
(3)
This section ceases to be in force at the end of 2 years, or such lesser period as is prescribed, after the day on which it commences.
