Fuel Quality Standards Act 2000

The Committee consists of such members as the Minister determines.

However, the Minister must ensure that the membership includes the following:

1 representative of each State, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory;

1 representative of the Commonwealth;

1 person representing fuel producers;

1 person representing a non‑government body with an interest in the protection of the environment;

1 person representing the interests of consumers.

The Minister must appoint members by written instrument.

The Minister must appoint a member to be the Chair of the Committee.

Each member holds office on a part‑time basis.
