Gene Technology Act 2000

The regulations may prescribe matters relating to the members of the Gene Technology Technical Advisory Committee and expert advisers, including, but not limited to, the following:

term of appointment;

resignation;

disclosure of interests;

termination of appointment;

leave of absence.

The regulations may prescribe matters relating to the operation of the Gene Technology Technical Advisory Committee, including, but not limited to:

procedures for convening meetings of the Committee; and

the constitution of a quorum for a meeting of the Committee; and

the way in which matters are to be resolved by the Committee; and

Committee records; and

reporting requirements, including, but not limited to, reports to the Regulator and to the public.

If no regulations are in force under subsection (2), the Committee must operate in the way determined by the Regulator in writing.

If no regulations are in force under subsection (2) and no determination is in force under subsection (3), the Committee may operate in the way it determines.
