106XC Additional information about practitioner referred by Committee or Determining Authority

(1)

This section applies if a written statement is given by a Committee or the Determining Authority to the Director under subsection 106XA(1) or 106XB(1), stating its concerns that:

(a)

conduct by a practitioner (including a person who has been a practitioner) has caused, is causing, or is likely to cause, a significant threat to the life or health of any other person; or

(b)

a practitioner (including a person who has been a practitioner) has failed to comply with professional standards.

(2)

The Committee or the Determining Authority, as the case may be, may give the Director additional information in relation to:

(a)

the review or investigation in connection with which the written statement is given; or

(b)

any matter covered by the review or investigation or the statement; or

(c)

the services or benefits provided, or purportedly provided, by the practitioner under a medicare program.
