Health Insurance Act 1973

This Part has effect as provided by this section.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making grants of financial assistance to a State or Territory.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to payments relating to the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to the provision of medical and dental services.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to payments relating to the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to the provision of pharmaceutical, sickness and hospital benefits.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure through the provision of benefits to students.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to postal, telegraphic, telephonic or other like services.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure in or with respect to a Territory.

This Act has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to trade or commerce:

between Australia and other countries; or

among the States; or

between Territories or between a Territory and a State.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments to a corporation to which paragraph 51(xx) of the Constitution applies for the purposes of carrying out the corporation’s activities.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to the people of any race for whom it is deemed necessary to make special laws.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for the purposes of the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to quarantine.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments with respect to:

Australia’s rights and obligations under an agreement with one or more countries; or

matters that are of international concern.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments relating to the creation or development of health infrastructure with respect to the development of patents of invention.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for purposes relating to matters incidental to the exercise of any of the legislative powers of the Parliament.

This Part has the effect it would have if its operation with respect to making payments were expressly confined to making payments for purposes relating to matters incidental to the exercise of any power vested in the Executive Government.
