2 Commencement
Subject to this section, this Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Subject to subsection (3), Part 2 of Schedule 1 to this Act commences on the fund‑transfer day.
If Schedule 2 to the Audit (Transitional and Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 1997 does not commence before the fund‑transfer day:
the amendments of section 9A of the Health Insurance Commission Act 1973; and
the repeals of section 35 and paragraphs 42(a), (b) and (c) of the Health Insurance Commission Act 1973;
made by this Act commence immediately after the commencement of Schedule 2 to the Audit (Transitional and Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 1997.
Part 3 of Schedule 1 to this Act commences at the end of the period of 5 years beginning on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
In this section:
fund‑transfer day has the same meaning as in Part 2 of this Act.
